Spin Attack: Sonic's trademark move. Curls into a spinning ball and attacks opponents with his sharp quills. Can use this technique to dig through the ground or move underwater at high speeds. Can be done while jumping.

Spin Dash: Sonic rolls in place to rev up, then dashes off at high-speed as a concussive ball. Used primarily to gain momentum and has limited airborne capability.

Insta-Shield: Creates a temporary 360º shield for both offensive and defensive purposes; damages/slashes opponents while protecting Sonic from attacks and projectiles. In the Fleetway Comics, it's explained that Sonic does this by vibrating the air molecules around him at super speeds. Capable of blocking attacks from Knuckles the Echidna.

Super Peel Out: Sonic's legs spin in an infinity-symbol and rockets off at super speed. His feet move so fast that he can hover in the air briefly, displace water for hydroplaning and can slow falls.

Homing Attack: A mid-air Spin Attack that can home-in on consecutive targets.

Focused Homing Attack: A stronger version of the Homing Attack can target up to six enemies at once, or Sonic concentrates more power entirely on one enemy.

Sonic Wind: Summons a blue cyclone that ensnares and damages opponents from any distance.

Somersault Kick: A midair somersault maneuver followed with a kick, which creates a projectile energy wave that stuns enemies. However, stronger opponents are not affected, and can even deflect it.

Stomp: A powerful downward stomp attack that creates a shockwave upon impact.

Humming Top: Thrusts forward in midair and delivers a spinning kick, granting limited horizontal flight.

Blue Tornado: Forms a tornado around enemies to fling them into the air, disorient them or disarm them of their gears and items.

Sonic Wave: Uses the Spin Dash to create a shockwave that travels and hits his opponents. Can be done while in mid-air.

Somersault: Attacks while performing a somersault, allowing him to break through obstacles and get under tight spaces.

Fire Somersault: A fiery somersault that's capable of breaking through iron containers. 

Fire Sliding: Slides across the ground while covered in flames, allowing him to break through metal barriers.

Bound Jump: A bouncing Spin Attack used to reach higher places.

Skydiving: Sonic adjusts his body position so that he can control how fast he can fall.

Dash: Sonic dashes forward at high speeds, plowing through obstacles, enemies, and automatically avoiding hazards. Attracts nearby rings while in use.

Sonic Boom: Sonic draws wind around him before launching himself forward with a burst of speed that lets him break the sound barrier. While active, Sonic gains increased speed and invulnerability, allowing him to damage enemies simply by running into them.

Boost Mode: When gathering enough acceleration and momentum, Sonic's speed increases to the point where he can leave behind afterimages.

Speed Up: Increases top speed.

Time Stop: Somehow stops time for 10 seconds, leaving the opponent immobilized.

Kick Boost: A charged kick used to move heavy objects at high speed.

Guard: Creates a shield to defend himself.

Magic Hands: When at close range with an enemy, Sonic destroys them and shrinks them down to small size, trapped within a tiny sphere that he can throw like a grenade. Doesn't work on ghosts.

Whirlwind: Sonic circles around his foes, attacking them with a whirlwind that cannot miss. Eventually, Sonic stops moving and jumps away, releasing the wind vortex on the enemies.

Sonic Heal: Vibrates his molecules at supersonic speed, healing any physical damage Sonic may have received.

Chaos Control: The ability to control space and time using the energy of the Chaos Force. The magnitude of its power depends on how much Chaos Emeralds Sonic has with him. Can be used to instantly teleport from one place to another, which can be used on objects as large as the Black Comet and the Space Colony Ark from Earth's surface to outer space. It can even allow the user to travel between dimensions and scatter objects across the galaxy. It can also slow or stop time completely, whilst leaving the user unaffected. Capable of preventing the Super Genesis Wave and break reality itself.

Speed Break: Sonic gets an extreme boost in speed, making him invulnerable and take out enemies who are in his way. Can also allow him to run pass projectiles and push back attacks back at the opponent, if enough force is applied.

Time Break: Slows down the flow of time, giving himself more time to react. Unlike Speed Break, it can be used indefinitely and works for about 10 seconds at a time.

Soul Surge: With Caliburn in hand, Sonic dashes up to his opponents at high speeds and performs swift and powerful slashes to them. Requires Soul Gauge energy to use.

Treasure Scanner: Allows Sonic to see hidden items and Springs.

Flying Kick: Homes in on an enemy and kicks them into an object or another enemy.

Gravity Control: Sonic manipulates gravity to change his direction in mid-air or find alternative routes.

Gravity Dive: With the Ark of the Cosmos, Sonic flies through the air at intense speeds, with everything around him subjected to zero-gravity. Sonic can slide off floating objects for an extra boost in speed.

Fire/Ice Mode: After absorbing energy from a fissure, Sonic gained the ability to use Fire or Ice energy. With Fire Mode, Sonic envelops himself in a red/orange aura that burns/superheats objects and instantly melts solid ice. With Ice Mode, Sonic is enveloped in a blue-aura that instantly freezes anything near him, even the ground he walks on.

Caliburn
- A magical, sentient sword that acts as Sonic's weapon and partner.

- Sonic's version of Amy's Piko Piko Hammer in Sonic Advance 3, if the two are paired together. Though, it's very likely he can use it on his own.
- Capable of smashing robots, creating tornadoes, and producing shockwaves by striking the ground.

Speed Star
- Sonic's race car that was built by Tail with parts left over by an attempted invasion by Eggman.
- Has three modes: Car (default), Boat (traverses water), and Plane (can fly through the air and is the fastest mode).
- Can be used to run over enemies.

Magic Stones: Magical gemstones given to him by a magical frog Sonic saved from a mudslide. Their respective colors symbolize what power they grant temporarily.
- Green: Super Strength (increases strength many times over)
- Yellow: Super Leaping (jumps much higher & longer than usual)
- Red: Elasticity (useful for surviving against blunt force)

Ancient Light: Allows Light Speed Attack.

Crystal Ring: Halves the time needed to charge the Light Speed Attack.

Bounce Bracelet: Enables Bound Jump.

Flame Ring: Enables Fire Somersault.

Magic Gloves: Enables Magic Hands.

Sonic's Mech Suit
- An old mech suit created by the Ancients.
- Has a full-body energy shield.
- Retractable foot-mounted wheels for increased ground mobility.
- Strong enough to easily overpower Mega Bot and Knuckles.
- Flies fast enough to keep up with Eggman's Eggmobile.
- Arms are equipped with retractable blasters which can fire chargeable lasers powerful enough to destroy Mega Bot (a robot capable of no-selling Knuckles' punches) in one shot. When charged to full power, however, it will drain the shields, making it vulnerable.

Power-Ups:


Invincibility: Makes Sonic invincible for 10-20 seconds.

Speed Shoes: Increases running speed and jumping height for 15-20 seconds.

Super Ring: Gives Sonic 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, 50 or 100 rings.

Shield: Creates a defensive barrier that protects against a single attack or hazard. Variants include:

- Flame Shield: Negates fire and heat-based damage, as well as perform a Mid-Air Dash. Can't survive in water.

Aqua Shield: Enables breathing underwater and bounce jump to reach higher places. Deflects minor projectiles and can walk/run across water without sinking.

Thunder Shield: Allows double jump, immunity to electric attacks/hazards, and attracts nearby Rings. Can't survive in water.

Gold Shield: Same functions as regular Shield. Gives Sonic a variation of his Homing Attack called the Blast Attack.

Rocket Shoes: Gives Sonic rocket shoes that let him fly through the air at high speeds. Can be used roughly up to a minute.

Propeller Shoes: Gives Sonic's shoes underwater rocket jets that let him move freely underwater for a few seconds.

Pogo Spring: A spring that allows Sonic to bounce over high and far distances.

Spring Shoes: Increases jump height.

Ring Time: Turns nearby enemies into rings.

Stun: Halts enemies and makes them vulnerable to attack.

Magnet: Attracts rings.

Detonate: Causes nearby enemies to explode.

Self-Propelled Bomb: A bomb that automatically flies by itself in a certain direction, exploding when it hits a target.

Banana: Produces a banana peel that other people slip on and slow down for a few seconds.

Change: Gives Sonic a copy of an item or power-up in the opponent's current use.

Time Stop: Freezes time itself for about 15 seconds.

Slow: Slows down the opponent significantly for 10 seconds.

Color Powers:


Sonic absorbs a Wisp, allowing him to use their Hyper-go-on energy to grant himself new powers and abilities temporarily. The abilities Sonic gains depends on the color of the Wisp (ei. Black Wisp = Black Bomb). White Wisps increase the duration of Sonic using his Sonic Boost. Sonic can also use these powers in combination with one another.

Black Bomb: Turns into a large bomb that increases in size as it rolls over enemies. Soon, the bomb will create an explosion proportionate to its size.

Blue Cube: Turns into a large cube that creates shockwaves upon slamming into the ground.

Crimson Eagle: Turns into a crimson eagle for flight.

Cyan Laser: Turns into a living laser that can penetrate enemies and bounce off of surfaces.

Green Hover: Turns into a green hovercraft that can fly and can travel along a trail of rings.

Gray Quake: Turns into a heavy iron ball that can make shockwaves, break through obstacles and scale up walls.

Indigo Asteroid: Turns into a levitating, miniature planet who's gravity attracts and tears apart objects and enemies. The gravity becomes stronger the more objects are pulled in.

Ivory Lightning: Turns into a living lightning bolt that can latch onto objects and electrocute foes.

Magenta Rhythm: Turns into a large musical note that can bounce on air.

Orange Rocket: Turns into a rocket that jet-propels at high speeds.

Pink Spikes: Turns into a spiky ball that can stick into any surfaces and tear through metal.

Purple Frenzy: Turns into a demonic head with powerful jaws that can chew through anything, growing in size as it does so. At max size, it gains a suction breath that sucks in small objects.

Red Burst: Turns into a fireball that can create explosions for extra jumps or shields of flame that can incinerate anything.

Violet Void: Turns into a living black hole that sucks in enemies and objects, growing bigger after each consumption. At max size, it can suck in large objects. Can also fly and become intangible.

Yellow Drill: Turns into a drill that can go through ground and water.


Final Color Blaster: The ultimate Color Power. Sonic uses the combined powers of all of the Wisps to attack the opponent. Can be used as an enhanced version of either the Homing Attack or Sonic Boost.

Transformations:


Sonic the Werehog

Height: 4'1" (125 cm)
Weight: 132 lbs. (60 kg)
- A transformation caused by Sonic being exposed to Dark Gaia's energy. 
- Forcefully transforms into this form at night, but reverts back in the day.
- Sonic loses much of his trademark speed, though he still keeps his agility and reflexes.
- Arms can extend over several meters and enlarge to enhance power of strikes, which he can use to Le Parkour around buildings or enhance his hand-to-hand combat capability.
- Has a mid-air dash attack.
- Increases Sonic's muscle mass and density, granting him a noticeable increase in physical strength, allowing him to destroy metal vaults with a single punch and topple creature several times his size.
- Excels in melee-combat.
- More durable than base Sonic.
- Notably more aggressive than usual.
- Enhances physical strikes with Dark Gaia energy.
- Strong enough to lift and toss both the Dark Gaia Phoenix and Egg Dragoon.
Notable Skills:

- Guard: Creates a blue barrier around himself or hexagon-shaped shields from his forearms that can neutralize incoming attacks, except for elemental-type ones such as fire and electricity. However, it will give out when it sustains too much damage.

- Unleashed Mode: Tapping into Dark Gaia energy, Sonic's entire body becomes surrounded in a light blue aura. Enhances strength, speed, durability and grants temporary invincibility towards attacks.
- List of all the skills Sonic the Werehog uses.

Hyper Mode

- A special mode accessed by the Chaos Emeralds.
- Enhances speed and attack power.
- Can defeat Dr. Eggman's E-Mech within 15 seconds.
- Has no known time limit.

Super Sonic

- Sonic harnessing the power of the Chaos Emeralds, or if he's under stress.
- Increases Sonic's abilities 1000x.
- Greatly enhances Chaos Powers.
- Nigh-invincible.
- Can fire blasts of Chaos Energy that can be fired as small energy bolts or become strong enough to destroy moons.
- Can create an energy shield around himself.
- Stated to move at "incalculable speed".
- Has access to unlimited chaos energy.
- Due to using positive Chaos energy, Super Sonic can overwhelm beings powered by "negative" energy, or neutralize negative emotions (ei. anger and rage). Can also weaken dark magic hexes on people.
- When reverting back to base form, Sonic returns to peak physical condition.
- Has the ability to heal wounds.
- Can last between 50 seconds to a few days.
- Capable of flight.
- Can fire energy blasts from his eyes, that can also be invisible.
- Can store enough energy to heat objects up to millions of degrees, and create an explosion that produces an electromagnetic pulse capable of wiping out every electronic on the planet.
- Implied to be strong enough to pull the moon out of orbit, and is strong enough to briefly hold back the falling Space Colony Ark.
- Can turn intangible.
- Makes Sonic powerful enough to contend with godlike beings.
- Destroyed an entire pocket dimension during his fight with Hyper Knuckles.
- Can withstand and move in gravitational pressures powerful enough to compress a planet until it explodes and destroys a universe.
Notable Skills:

- Super Sonic Boost: Enhanced version of the Sonic Boost. Super Sonic envelops within a golden aura and rams into the opponent, attracting nearby rings along the way.

- Arrow of Light: Absorbs blue light into his body, and then turns into "an arrow of light" that strikes the target with immense speed and force. Capable of damaging Solaris' body and penetrating his light shell.

- Bolt of Lightning: Becomes a bolt of lightning when reaching full speed.

- Deflect: Creates an energy shield that knocks back enemy projectiles or just simply kicks them back.

- Super Sonic Missile: A charged version of the Super Sonic Boost.

- Super Sonic Spinning: Enhanced version of the Spin Attack, empowered by Chaos energy.

- Chaos Regeneration: Concentrates his energy into a ball of light that can heal others or prevent them from dying.

Hyper Sonic

- Sonic harnessing the power of the Super Emeralds.
- Superior version of Super Sonic.
- A single Super Emerald is stronger than the Chaos Emeralds, so it's likely Hyper Sonic is, at minimum, 7 times more powerful than Super Sonic.
- Presumably, uses all of the same abilities as Super Sonic, albeit stronger.
- Lasts just as long as Super Sonic.
- Can breathe underwater.
Notable Skills:
- Hyper Flash: Hyper Sonic's sole exclusive attack. Hyper Sonic jumps into the air and causes a blinding flash of light that destroys all enemies on screen, and launches Sonic in a certain direction he faces.

Dark Sonic

- Also called "Dark Super Sonic".
- Basically the negative counterpart to Super Sonic; instead of being fueled by positive Chaos energy, Dark Sonic uses negative Chaos energy.
- Triggered by Sonic's rage.
- Makes Sonic more angry and sadistic.
- Reverts to normal the moment Sonic calms down.
- Considerably increases power and speed.
- True extent of abilities is unknown.

Darkspine Sonic

- Result of Sonic using the World Rings of Rage, Hatred and Sadness to transform.
- Arguably, Sonic's most powerful form.
- Can warp the reality of the Arabian Nights' universe.
- Possesses limited pyrokinetic abilities; enhances his strikes with fire.
- Focuses on hand-to-hand combat.
- Can use Time Break and Speed Break at will without using Shahra's ring.
- Can generate unlimited Soul Gauge energy for Time Break and Speed Break.
- Capable of flight.
- Defeated Alf Layla wa-Layla, a being capable of turning the world of Arabian Nights into an endless void with his mere presence. To put this feat into further perspective, Sonic transformed with only 3 World Rings, whereas his opponent used all 7. In the same battle, he was capable of sending back his strongest attack with brute force alone. After the fight, returned the Arabian Nights to normal with a flick of his wrist.

Excalibur Sonic

- A form assumed by Sonic by merging the power of the Sacred Swords, including Caliburn.
- Is called "the ultimate Knight", hinting a high level of skill and power.
- Has an enhanced version of Sonic's Soul Surge.
- Can deflect projectiles and shatter magic barriers with sword strikes.
- Strong enough to deflect sword strikes from the much larger Dark Queen.
- Strongest attack is when Excalibur Sonic channels golden magical energy to ram through the opponent with Excalibur.
- Clad in golden knight armor.
- Upon transforming, no matter what condition Sonic and Caliburn are in (such as getting beaten half to death), they return to peak physical condition.
- Capable of flight.
- Defeated the Dark Queen, who's power encompasses over an entire kingdom.
- Can shatter Merlina's magic barriers whereas Base Sonic couldn't.
Weapon:

- Excalibur: The original and greatest of all the Sacred Swords. Caliburn's transforms into this form due to Sonic's "never give up" attitude rekindling the light of Excalibur, as well as absorbing the powers of the other sacred swords. Can extend itself for longer reach when using Soul Surge. The blade can apparently cut through anything and shatter magic barriers with physical strikes. Unlike Caliburn, Excalibur doesn't break or damage easily.

Ultra Sonic

- A super form accessed by collecting an absurd amount of Power Rings or a Super Emerald. Though, the former method quickly burns through Sonic's energy supply, and leaves him drained if he pushes his powers.
- All of Sonic's innate talents are greatly enhanced, granting him highly increased strength, speed and reflexes.
- Capable of flight.
- Supposedly invulnerable to virtually any harm.
- Can manipulate atomic particles, usually appearing in the form of elemental manipulation. Such as turning air into a wall of water or turning a stone column into a large uprising spike. No limit to this ability has been elaborated upon.
- Can create portals to other dimensions. Can use this ability to trap people in the Zone of Silence, basically a prison zone.
- Likely more powerful than Super Sonic, since Sonic changed into this state after turning into Super Sonic when using a Super Emerald.
- Has three alternative forms based on the environment he's in including: Solar Sonic, Polar Sonic, and Eco-Sonic. Their powers are unknown, but it's likely they have control over fire, ice, and nature, respectively.

Weaknesses:

- Afraid of water.
- Cocky and impulsive.
- Has a huge ego.
- Most super forms require lots of energy in order to maintain.
- Enough force can bypass his super forms' invulnerabilities, and can actually harm them.
- Rings disappear after they are used or if Sonic takes damage, forcing Sonic to collect more from the environment.
- Sonic Boost needs Rings and White Wisps to be fueled.
- Has one of the worst fanbases in history.
- Has yet to settle with a single girlfriend/wife.
- Sonic Labyrinth, Sonic 06, and Sonic Boom. That is all.
